Salik Rules & Toll Timings During Ramadan 2025

In an effort to accommodate citizens during Ramadan, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced a change in toll fees and timings.

Salik announced in January that during this Ramdan, which began on March 1st, there will be slight changes in pricing and timings to accommodate those who are observing the holy month.

Since working times change in Ramadan to adapt to the time of Iftaar and Suhoor, the RTA saw it best to apply some changes to make the commute easier and faster to be able to break the fast at sunset for Iftar and eat Suhoor before dawn.

Salik Rates

Salik rates will be free of charge between 2 AM to 7 AM, and there is a slight decrease in rates during morning rush hour from 7 AM to 9 AM to cost 4 DHS instead of 6 DHS during weekdays (Monday to Saturday).

During Sundays in Ramadan, Salik will drop to 4 DHS during the peak hour from 7 AM to 2 AM; and free from 2 AM to 7 AM.

These new fees and timing mean that drivers only pay the full Salik rate of 6 DHS during weekdays peak hour between 9 AM and 5 PM.

Here is a breakdown of the new pricing and timings system:

Weekdays (Monday to Saturday):

  • Peak Hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM): AED 6 per crossing.
  • Off-Peak Hours:
    • Morning (7:00 AM – 9:00 AM): AED 4 per crossing.
    • Evening (5:00 PM – 2:00 AM): AED 4 per crossing.
  • Toll-Free Hours (2:00 AM – 7:00 AM): No toll charges.

Sundays:

  • All Day (7:00 AM – 2:00 AM): AED 4 per crossing.
  • Toll-Free Hours (2:00 AM – 7:00 AM): No toll charges.
